It was initially anticipated that running CCSA would result in cost savings, but a continued lack of investment in infrastructure placed further strain on the already challenged industry. As a result, the decision was made to wind down the organisation, effective from 1 April 2024. 

Despite these setbacks, the industry continues to strive towards aligning with international carbon emission standards and sustainable practices, ensuring that its products are more environmentally friendly.
