Saint-Gobain RhinoROC Fibre Cement Plant Opening in Ekurhuleni

Saint-Gobain Africa has officially opened its new state-of-the-art fibre cement manufacturing plant in Ekurhuleni. This R500+ million investment marks a significant step in strengthening local manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports.

A Milestone for Local Manufacturing

The new plant will produce RhinoROC™ fibre cement boards, a durable, fire-resistant, and moisture-resistant building material. Designed to meet international standards, these lightweight boards cater to local needs while ensuring supply stability for retailers and contractors.

Event Highlights

The inauguration event brought together industry stakeholders, retail partners, and officials. Attendees participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony, factory tours, and product demonstrations showcasing the 4mm and 6mm RhinoROC™ boards.
