Rust-Oleum launches the custom spray 5-in-1 can

Spray paint is the Swiss army knife of DIY. But runs, drips and unevenness are an issue causing endless disappointments for DIYers. This is all set to change with the exciting launch the Rust-Oleum Custom Spray 5-in-1 can – offered in the advanced Stops Rust formulae.   

New and novel, this first-of-its-kind technology, only available from Rust-Oleum, allows painters to change spray patterns with a simple click of a dial. Five different spray directions from one can and one dial.    

Rust-Oleum South Africa marketing manager, Lani Carstens says that traditional cans have only ever offered one spray pattern. This can be challenging, particularly for less experienced painters. “With the new 5-in-1 can, users can simply tailor the spray to their project. The new nozzle puts the painter in charge. Each spray pattern addresses a different project challenge and includes:  

• High Output – More paint. More power: This spray pattern releases more paint than a standard spray. The high output setting is used to paint larger pieces and rounded edges more seamlessly   
• Standard Spray – Classic spray with a twist: This spray pattern delivers a traditional application and can be used for a wide variety of DIY projects  
• Low Output – Paint with precision: With less paint released – this setting provides more control for painting fine, intricate details. The low output setting eliminates drips and overspray   
• Vertical Fan – Go the distance: When using this setting – users can expect more even coverage on wide surfaces. The can should be sprayed side to side on larger areas for a professional finish.  
• Horizontal Fan – Reach new heights: Tall surfaces can be tackled with the horizontal setting and by spraying up and down – even coverage and an expert finish can easily be achieved.  

The new nozzle technology is only available on the advanced Stops Rust cans which come standard with the extra-large finger pad for comfort while spraying. The can’s 360-degree, any-angle spray technology allows users to hold the can at any angle while painting. Rust-Oleum has launched 11 new Stops Rust shades (in gloss and flat finishes) with the 5-in-1 nozzle. There are also clear top coats available.    

The new Stops Rust colours available with the dawn of the new spray dial include White, black, Sunrise Red, Hunter Green, Sunburst Yellow, Orange, Charcoal Grey, Navy, Sail Blue, Smoke Grey, and Leather Brown.  

The advanced Stops Rust formula offers 30% more corrosion resistance and colour retention compared to the standard Stops Rust formula, and it resists fading, chipping, and abrasion. It can be used on interior and exterior wood or metal projects, including furniture, fencing, and more.
