New sealant technology at the helm

Under the brand Purform, Sika is launching a newly developed polyurethane sealant technology. The new technology enhances the superiority of polyurethane regarding strength and durability and impresses through a very low monomer content. 

The latter enables Sika to manufacture more sustainable products that will meet future environmental and health regulations.   

With the new Purform polyurethane technology, Sika set another milestone in terms of sustainable product development. The innovation enables Sika to substantially lower the monomeric di-isocyanate content in its products and to create solutions with content below 0.1%. Therefore, Sika meets the new European Union REACH regulation valid as of 2023, which is the regulation adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment. With the Purform technology, users can benefit from the unique performance of polyurethane at the lowest exposure and the highest level of work safety.   

As of 2021, Purform technology has been inside Sika’s most trusted brands, Sikaflex, SikaBond, SikaTack, and SikaFloor. Sikaflex-11 FC is the professional’s favourite multitool for sealing and bonding in construction for over 50 years. Now even more attractive with the revolutionary Purform polyurethane inside, making Sikaflex®-11 FC Purform outperform in three key areas:   

■ Ready faster: Rapid build-up of hardness and strength, also at lower temperatures
