Mica Market 2026: Highlights from Sun City Event

Mica Market 2026, themed “Built 4 More,” marked a grand return to Sun City after 19 years. This event brought together independent Mica retailers and preferred suppliers from South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, and Lesotho. With over 90% member attendance, 92 suppliers, and 144 stands, the event was a resounding success.

Monday, 12 October

The event kicked off with an opening dinner at The Thirsty Chameleon, sponsored by Dulux. Brad Carter, Chairman of the Membership Advisory Committee, highlighted the group’s adaptability and strength. Delegates received R500 vouchers to spend on the “Limited by Mica” branded range, which was set to launch at the trade show

Tuesday, 13 October

The trade show at Sun Park, sponsored by Ingco, showcased innovative products with app support, Wi-Fi, and coffee stations. The evening featured The Great South African Braai, sponsored by Ryobi and Steco. Steco launched its hybrid tool concept, with Springbok Andre Esterhuizen as the brand face. Music by Tanner Wareham and Refentse Morake added to the lively atmosphere.

Wednesday, 14 October

Delegates enjoyed an optional Pilanesberg game drive, sponsored by Excelsior Paints. The evening’s highlight was the Out of Africa awards ceremony at the amphitheatre, followed by dinner at the Valley of the Waves, sponsored by Duram. Hosted by Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp, the event featured the Ndlovu Youth Choir and a spectacular fireworks display.

Thursday, 15 October

The event concluded with delegate departures, leaving attendees inspired and connected.
