Kwikot Opens Doors to Future Skills in Trades, Manufacturing and Hospitality
In celebration of Youth Month, Kwikot hosted a “Future Skills Experience” at its Benoni headquarters. The event aimed to expose learners, educators, media, and industry stakeholders to career opportunities in trades, manufacturing, and hospitality. By showcasing its operations and addressing skills gaps, Kwikot is paving the way for South Africa’s next generation of skilled professionals.

Hands-On Learning at the Future Skills Experience
The factory tour provided attendees with a behind-the-scenes look at Kwikot’s operations, including:
- Water-Heating Systems: Insights into the manufacturing of geysers and water-heating solutions.
- HVAC Systems: Demonstrations of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technologies.
- Hospitality Equipment: Exposure to commercial kitchen equipment and stainless-steel fabrication.
Attendees also learned about critical skills gaps in plumbing, welding, electrical work, HVAC, and hospitality, highlighting the need for practical training and career development in these fields.

Empowering Youth Through Skills Development
Kwikot’s initiative goes beyond exposure – it actively supports skills development through:
- Internships: Opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in trades and manufacturing.
- School Support: A R25,000 prize for schools to enhance their technical education programmes.
