By simply purchasing Sephaku cement, taking a photo of the receipt and uploading it to the website, (rural areas could do manual entries) consumers stood a chance of winning one of five R20 000 vouchers monthly from the store where they made their purchase – a total giveaway of R 400 000 over the promotion period.
In addition, retailers registered for the promotion stood a chance of being one of five retailers that would win two pallets (80 x 32.5kg bags) of cement per month – a total giveaway of 1 600 bags of cement over the promotion period.
At the end of the four months came the super draw where one lucky consumer would win the grand prize of a Toyota Bakkie.
The till slip of Amanda Johnson was drawn electronically. Johnson purchased her cement from Builder’s Express Cedar Square. On Friday 22 June, the team from Sephaku Cement, a Toyota representative and the managers and staff of Builders Express Cedar Square presented the Bakkie to a very emotional Amanda and her husband Howard. Champagne, gifts, flowers and streamers accompanied the handover and a visibly overawed Amanda sat in her new bakkie for the first time. James Noko from Toyota took her through the features of her brand new vehicle.
Johnson previously took the bus to work, hence her uncontained delight on taking ownership of a brand new vehicle – a very deserving winner indeed.
